lag

the river has woken
from its window view
the geese ease
themselves past.
the girl inside
fluctuates, a new
day makes
peace with
the water's still
edge. smoothly,
the birds move
ripples yawn
across
the face
of the calm
river. time was,
the amber lights
calling the street
across would
blink.so quiet
and still
the traffic
comes. the girl
inside watches
the world
remember,
drawing
patterns
in the sky
with a
crooked
finger.

inspire

a night's unease
cools slightly
waking to
a technicolour fritz
the screen plays out
dark is always
peopled, these
days, words from
other continents
drift. another
drum. how hard
to think, i am
anointing you:
a bas relief
of tiny breaths
and starts,
this clay
stirs. moments.
gods turn
over. sleep.
in real
time, rise,
fall of your
chest. empirical,
this lust
shapes us.
from form
less
ness
we speak.

aten

a robe half-on
aircon whirs
soft, the room
grows strange
again

a breath over
a shoulder,
yours? a faint
outline

gold disc
raised by
a flat palm
outside
a hymn

begins
